Yes. Oily skin can still benefit from moisturization. The more useful distinction is how much and what texture your skin prefers. For oily or combination profiles, a lighter formulation can provide hydration without the feel of a heavy cream. Barrière Légère is designed around that profile, with 4.0% total barrier lipids and a lighter texture.

Barrière Profonde is the richer profile for dry, sensitive, or visibly stressed skin, with 6.0% total barrier lipids and pH 5.0. Barrière Légère is the lighter profile for oily or combination skin, with 4.0% total barrier lipids and pH 5.2. These are formulation profiles, not treatments for a medical skin condition.

The 3:1:1 architecture refers to the relative physiological lipid structure used across the ThreeSkins formulations: ceramides, cholesterol, and free fatty acids. ThreeSkins uses a ceramide-dominant architecture and discloses the formulation structure so the product can be understood beyond a generic “moisturizer” label.

The outer layer of skin helps limit water loss and protect against environmental exposure. Moisturizers can help maintain skin hydration by reducing water loss and adding or supporting components of the skin surface. ThreeSkins approaches moisturization through a physiological lipid architecture rather than positioning the product as a medical treatment.

Yes. Both formulations are made without added fragrance. ThreeSkins does not add perfume or essential oils for fragrance. As with any cosmetic, individual skin responses can vary, so introduce a new product thoughtfully and discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Apply a small amount to clean skin as the moisturizing step in your routine. ThreeSkins recommends using the formulation according to your skin profile and routine rather than treating it as a corrective or medicinal product. If your skin is persistently painful, cracked, inflamed, or unusually reactive, consult a qualified dermatologist.

Oiliness and hydration are not the same thing. Skin can produce oil while still feeling tight or lacking water. A suitable moisturizer can help support hydration without requiring an oily or heavy finish, which is one reason ThreeSkins separates its richer and lighter formulation profiles.

ThreeSkins currently distinguishes formulation development from validation milestones. Formulation architecture is complete; thermal stability testing and HRIPT are in progress, while bio-instrumental TEWL testing is scheduled. The site will not describe a test as completed until that milestone is actually completed.
